Lanier Chamber Singers                                               Gainesville, Georgia

The Lanier Chamber Singers was formed in 1991 as The Lanier Singers by Lee Bratton and Keith Jefcoat for the sole purpose of promoting outstanding choral singing in the northeast Georgia area. From the beginning, the group focused developing a repertoire of a cappella literature from the Renaissance and Twentieth centuryperiods. 

In 1996, the group performed during the summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.  The group performed in 1997 and 2001 for the summer convention of the Georgia American Choral Directors Association in Spivey Hall at Clayton College and State University in Morrow, Georgia.
 

Under the direction of Dr. Michelle Roueche', the choir continued to be recognized as one of the premier choirs in the county with invitations to perfom on Spivey Hall's prestigious concert series, and with invitations to perform at the ACDA Southern Division conventions in 2006 and 2010.  The choir is now under the direction of Dr. Wallace Hinson.

 
The choir draws its members from throughout northeast Georgia. Members of The Lanier Singers have extensive musical backgrounds, but their current professions include general contractors, students, lawyers and college professors. Members volunteer their time in singing because of their dedication to the arts, and their commitment to the cultural enrichment of the community.  

The Lanier Chamber Singers is organized as a not-for-profit corporation in the state of Georgia, and is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
